We The following is a list of State Assisted substance abuse treatment programs. Not One More Alabama is not endorsing one program over another but rather is providing this list as a resource. State Assisted programs vary in scope and type. Some include medically managed detox programs, some are short term programs and others are long term programs. Some provide clinical services where others are primarily sober living type programs. It is important that individuals do their research and find out the type of services provided. The State of Alabama has an online resource titled the Substance Abuse Services provider Directory (link below). Many of the state assisted programs are listed in this directory which includes a listing of services provided by each program. State assisted programs receive state funding which allows the program to offer their services at reduced or free rates. Some programs provide sliding scale fees. This list may change and some of these programs may not be in existence any longer. NOMA is also providing information on other lower cost options for treatment in the region. We know nothing about the quality of these programs and are not endorsing them. As we are made aware of lower cost options in the area, we will include them in this list. NOMA works to keep this list updated but does not consider this list to be an exhaustive list of programs.
Are you looking for help now? The State of Alabama has a 24 hour/day Helpline (see below) that may be able to help guide you to treatment options via phone, chat or email. Not One More Alabama is NOT a Treatment Program and we do not provide referrals to treatment. If you are in an emergency situation, please contact 911 immediately. Not One More Alabama does not answer calls on a 24/7 basis and we are not an appropriate resource for immediate help. We DO provide education and support and would be happy to talk to you if you need help navigating the treatment options available to you.

Assessments in North Alabama
To be considered for placement into a State Funded Program, an individual must have an Adult Psychosocial Assessment (using DSM-IV TR diagnosis codes), on a state approved ASAM form, conducted by someone with a Master’s Degree or higher in a Clinical Counseling field. Below is a listing of two programs where individuals seeking an assessment in the North Alabama area may be able to obtain this document for a free or reduced cost. The assessment is the entry point into treatment in state funded programs.
