Sober Living Programs for Men
ALR (Any Length Resources) - Male only. Recovery/Sober Living Community in Bessemer, Prattville, AL (205-253-8871) and Pensacola 850-637-0050. Phases include orientation, step work, transition and independent living. Residents must work and attend step meetings while living at ALR. Staff live onsite and are helpful with transportation, etc.
Evenstill is a sober living community in Birmingham, AL offering a men’s and women’s program. Evenstill (formerly YANA) believes that the brokenness caused by drug and alcohol addiction can be restored by establishing a strong clinical foundation and working a 12-step program. The primary goal is to cultivate the desire for long-term recovery so that its residents can be proud to share their experience, strength, and hope with others. Fellowship House has a step down program called the Low IntensityTransitional Apartment Program in Birmingham, AL. This program assists with further developing the self-discipline and independent living skills necessary for living outside of institutions. Needs are addressed through case management, group counseling, and engagement in the community. In the low intensity transitional program, clients share financial responsibilities with their roommates. Clients remain involved by serving as mentors for newer residents and participating in group activities.
Impact Recovery Center- Located in Odenville, AL 205-707-6950 - The 12 steps are the basis of our drug and alcohol addiction treatment program here at Impact Recovery Center. This traditional method of approaching the solution utilizes recovery, unity and service to promote a recovered state. Following the 12 steps, you will be guided on a path that allows you to experience a revolutionary change in your thinking and outlook on life.
Integrative Life Center - Nashville, TN - Independent Transitional Living for Men: 15th Avenue and Sharpe House. 15th Avenue is located within walking distance of the main treatment center on Music Row. 15th Avenue provides an ideal environment for men who need an additional layer of support while attending the program's Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Residential managers and support staff are onsite. Sharpe House is the last phase offered for men in Integrative Life Center's continuum of care. Keep It Simple (Cumberland Heights ) - Murfreesboro, TN - Staffed with Cumberland Heights employees with years of their own personal recovery to assist residents and encourage them to participate in aftercare meetings, community involvement and sober activities with other recovering people.
Life or Death Recovery Services, Adam House- Huntsville, AL - A 501(c)3 that accepts men who suffer from a substance abuse disorder, but cannot accept clients with a primary diagnosis of a mental illness or with severe medical conditions that require the immediate presence or constant attention of medical staff. Applicants are often dually diagnosed and have co-occurring disorders with both an addiction and a treatable mental illness such as depression, anxiety or bipolar disorder. Mission of Mercy Shoals, (MOMS) - Men only. Non-profit residential rehabilitation program in Florence, AL that offers a controlled living environment, faith-based, 12-step development program. Daily 12-step meetings are mandatory for the first 90 days and then five times per week minimum attendance thereafter. Residents move to less restrictive apartments/homes as they progress through the program.
Oxford House of Alabama - Homes located in Mobile, Montgomery, Birmingham, Tuscaloosa and Athens. Homes for men, women, and women with children across the state of Alabama. Refer to Oxfordvacancies.com for information on individual homes and the national website Oxfordhouse.org.
Renascence Halfway Home- Montgomery, AL - 334-832-1402 - Renascence Re-Entry Program provides safe housing and structured, ongoing support to men released from prison on parole. The transitional program provides housing for up to 14 residents at a time for 6 - 12 months, based on need and progression through the program. The program helps men with employment, life and work skills, chemical dependency, education, family and community responsibilities.

The Pathfinder - The Pathfinder, is a non-profit, residential rehabilitation program for men who are serious about recovering from their drug and alcohol addictions but need extra support as they rebuild their lives. Stepping Stones- a 501(c)3 organization "with a mission to provide services to those recovering from substance abuse especially in the areas of housing, employment, transportation and peer led counseling" per their website. Their website indicates that they operate a MAT Housing Program to provide recovery support services to residents who are seeking recovery while on a MAT program. Liberty House of Theodore - a 501(c)3 co-ed sober-living community. They have a house manager that is fluent in American sign language so are able to accept those hard of hearing and deaf. ALR Hope For Women - ALR owns and operates apartment complexes for men and women who have completed a primary treatment program for chemical dependency. Best Life Recovery Residences (Huntsville, AL) -provides a supportive and structured home enviroment at an affordable cost for women upon completion of an inpatient rehabilitation program for alcohol or drugs. Based on the Oxford House model and standards established by the National Association of Recovery Residences, Best Life equips women with recovery support, accountability and resources to help them move forward to live their best life.
