Angel Tree memorializes lost loved ones
For the seventh year, Not One More Alabama (NOMA) is participating in the annual Tinsel Trail which officially opens Friday, November 24, 2023 at Big Spring Park in downtown Huntsville. Tinsel Trail is a popular tourist destination during the holidays where local corporations, groups and families sponsor and decorate live Christmas trees that are displayed along Big Spring Park.
Each year NOMA's Angel Tree is one of the largest on the Trail and is adorned by beautiful faces of loved ones lost to overdose or addiction. It is our mission to provide families with an opportunity to memorialize the life of a family member taken by this epidemic. It is our hope that the tree will stand as a reminder that addiction crosses all barriers and impacts everyone. The Angel Tree is visited by hundreds of people during the holidays and provides a place of comfort for families to honor and remember their loved one.
Submissions for the 2023 Angel Tree will run through November 12. No additional submissions will be accepted after November 12. We will begin accepting submissions for the 2024 Angel Tree in September of 2024.
We do host a memorial page on our website and we accept submissions from immediate family members year round. Please click on the link below if you would like your loved one to be included on the NOMA Memorial Page.
There may be information we need to share so please make sure you have signed up to receive emails from NOMA to insure you are informed about important dates including this year's Candlelight Memorial. You can sign up for our email list on our website at notonemorealabama.org
Please note: Due to privacy standards, only immediate family members (spouse, children, parents, grandparents and siblings) of the individual being remembered are permitted to have a photo on the tree or request a photo on the memorial page.

Become a Patron of the Angel Tree in 2023
UPDATE: The final date for becoming an Angel Tree Patron for 2023 was November 20th. We are so thankful for the support from our community this year. We welcome donations throughout the year at our donation page (a link is included at the top of the page) and are so grateful for your ongoing support.
Over the past six years, many people have asked, "How can we support the Angel Tree?" NOMA is a 501c3 non-profit organization and operates solely on generous donations from our community. The Angel Tree is extremely important to individuals who have lost loved ones, and stands each year as a reminder of the beautiful lives cut short by this disease. You can help offset the cost by becoming a Patron of the Angel Tree.
In 2017 after sponsoring the first Memorial Angel Tree, we quickly realized that we needed a larger tree. It's an unfortunate fact that Alabama has one of the highest overdose death rates in the country. Our community has not been spared by the epidemic, but we are among the first in Alabama to publicly recognize and support those impacted by the epidemic. We will not stop until there is Not One More Alabama.
Help us continue the tradition of honoring those lost to addiction by donating to Not One More Alabama. Those donating $50 or more will be included in signage alongside this year's tree. You can elect to remain anonymous as well.
