End Addiction HSV Walk 2023

Special thanks to Photographer Stephanie Jennings for capturing the smiles, tears and many resources who withstood the August heat to make the 6th Annual End Addiction Walk at Big Spring Park a huge success
The End Addiction HSV Walk is more than a walk. It is an opportunity for people to connect with resources and other individuals who have lived similar experiences. It is a place for families to remember loved-ones lost to accidental overdose or addiction. Many bring photos and write messages on a Memorial Wall. This is a FREE Community Event. Everyone is invited to join us.

FREE NALOXONE was provided by Project FREEDOM, VitAL and the Alabama Department of Mental Health. Limited quantity so arrive early for FREE training and distribution of the live-saving drug Naloxone.

PictureDAVID BATTLE
2023 Guest Speaker David Battle
We want to thank David Battle, former Johnson High School and Auburn University football standout, for serving as keynote speaker. His life took a drastic turn when a knee injury ended his college football career and dreams of playing for the NFL. The downward spiral ended in a prison sentence and near death.

As bleak as it sounds, Battle had people who believed in him until he believed in himself and turned his life around. Attendees of the Walk heard his remarkable story of hope.

A Look at End Addiction HSV 2022

The weather could not have been more perfect for the 5th End Addiction HSV Walk at Big Spring Park. Thank you for supporting Not One More Alabama and our mission to lift the stigma associated with substance use disorders and provide support for anyone impacted by the disease of addiction.

The 2022 End Addiction HSV Walk was a tremendous success from the 40+ treatment, recovery and family support resources to our outstanding keynote speaker Lauren Sisler, to the FREE lifesaving Narcan given away, to the Circle of Hope Recovery Countdown. What an emotional highlight to see that recovery IS possible and it is beautiful. We sincerely believe that someone who is struggling with the disease of addiction can see at events like this that support is available to anyone. The number of people, families and friends walking together through Big Spring Park on a beautiful August morning is testimony to that.

We especially want to recognize and thank our volunteers. Without you, we could not pull off an event like the End Addiction HSV Walk. We hope you enjoy the video below produced by Drew Callner of Callner Creates
