Interventionists

Not One More Alabama does not recommend or refer to any individual Interventionists or Intervention Services.  This information is provided as a resource only and should not be considered an endorsement of any of the services listed.  Using an interventionist to help support a family impacted by a family member who is struggling with a substance use disorder is an option for some families.  Interventionists are knowledgeable resources who are often familiar with many treatment options that may be of value to a family seeking information.  When seeking help of any type, individuals and families are encouraged to thoroughly research all resources and treatment options they are considering.

Association of Intervention Specialists

The Association of Intervention Specialists (AIS) is a network of interventionists located throughout the country and abroad. Members guide families and friends, business executives, and others through the intervention process whereby a person addicted to alcohol and/or other drugs and compulsive behaviors is encouraged to accept help. All full members are Certified Intervention Professionals, thereby meeting or exceeding educational and performance standards. All members adhere to the AIS Code of Ethics.

Several Interventionists we are familiar with...NOMA is not a referral source & does not recommend any individual interventionist

Phil Plant, MAPC

PicturePhil Plant, Above/Beyond/Sobriety
"There is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all treatment," explains Phil Plant who began working with families in crisis when he starting Above and Beyond Counseling Services in 2008. After watching some of the families he had helped continue to struggle with the devastating effects of addiction, he branched out of his Franklin, TN private practice and began traveling around the country visiting treatment facilities, sober-living homes, and furthering his understanding of treatment and recovery.

Phil began Above/Beyond/Sobriety in 2014 as a branch of his counseling practice with a focus on the "addicted family system" and services that include interventions, treatment consulting, recovery management, and individual and family counseling. Above/Beyond/Sobriety is integrated into a vast network of professionals and facilities to create a special course of treatment based on a patient’s specific needs, but Phil stresses "we DO NOT have financial relationships with any treatment centers or clinicians and therefore make our own treatment recommendations based solely on your loved one’s needs. These recommendations are always ones that are most conducive to long-term recovery."  615-753-9724
