International Overdose Awareness Day is August 31

Picture
Special thanks to the volunteers who placed each purple flag to represent the 1,009 Alabamians who died in 2020 as a result of drug overdose. These flags speak for the sons and daughters who were silenced by a deadly disease that strikes individuals and families indiscriminately. We appreciate the space provided by Attorneys Bond, Botes, Sykstus, Tanner & Ezzell at their law offices at 225 Pratt Avenue NE, Huntsville, AL 35801.

Drug overdose deaths are the leading cause of accidental deaths in the United States. According to the latest numbers from the CDC, in 2020 the State of Alabama had 1009* drug overdose deaths. Every year, August 31st is International Overdose Awareness Day. This day is a day of remembrance of those who have lost their lives to the disease of addiction but also a day to help raise awareness to just how serious this problem is. One of Not One More Alabama's missions is to help raise awareness. Help us raise awareness by sharing our social media posts, donating, and by purchasing an Overdose Awareness T-shirt today!
*Number provided by the CDC on July 2021, the official number has not been finalized.

Support Not One More Alabama

With our community's generous support, NOMA has reached thousands of individuals who have been impacted by addiction. COVID-19 has further validated our mission to support, educate and inspire those who need it now, more than ever. We welcome any donation, large or small; one time donation or monthly recurring donations. We have been humbled by the many birthday fundraisers through social media. And the large corporate donations have allowed us to offer our services free to the public. NOMA is a completely volunteer-operated not-for-profit  501(c)(3) organization. Please consider a donation today.
