NOMA Family Support Group is a group made of families and parent coaches that help to support other families that have a loved one struggling with a substance use disorder. The NOMA Family Support Group meets every Wednesday (starting November 3, 2021) from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church (12200 Bailey Cove Road, Huntsville, AL 35803. 

ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS (AA) is an international fellowship of men and women who have had a drinking problem. It is nonprofessional, self-supporting, multiracial, apolitical, and available almost everywhere. There are no age or education requirements. Alanon -  In Al-Anon/Alateen, members do not give direction or advice to other members. Instead, they share their personal experiences and stories, and invite other members to “take what they like and leave the rest”—that is, to determine for themselves what lesson they could apply to their own lives.The best place to learn how Al-Anon/Alateen works is at a meeting in your local community. CELEBRATE RECOVERY is a biblical and balanced program based on the words of Jesus rather than psychological theory.  It was launched 26 years ago by Saddleback Church as a program to help those struggling with hurts, habits and hang-ups by showing them the loving power of Jesus Christ through a recovery process. Celebrate Recovery is now in more than 30,000 churches worldwide. Locate a group by following this LINK. 

CMC (Center for Motivation & Change Foundation) - Family Mondays: Group Discussions.  An ongoing monthly drop-in series for family members of those struggling with problematic substance use.  Offered every first Monday of the month for a series of talks which will include discussion of the core elements that research and experience have shown can most effectively influence healthy behavior change in others with a special focus on the topic of the night. Questions and participation is encouraged! Cost is $15 per session and registration is required.  

 Co-Dependents Anonymous is a program of recovery from co-dependence, where each person may share their experience, strength, and hope in an effort to find freedom where there has been dependence.  You can find a meeting on their website.  It appears that all meetings are online at this time.

FAMILIES ANONYMOUS is a 12 Step fellowship for the families and friends who have known a feeling of desperation concerning the destructive behavior of someone very near to them, whether caused by drugs, alcohol, or related behavioral problems. When you come into our rooms you are no longer alone, but among friends who have experienced similar problems.  Any concerned person is encouraged to attend our meetings, even if there is only a suspicion of a problem.  Follow this LINK to find a meeting online or in your community.

Herren Project Support Groups offers an array of different online support groups for families and loved ones who have been affected by addiction. These support groups meet weekly in an online virtual classroom format and are free of charge. All groups are led by licensed clinicians who can offer clinical insight along with insight from other peers.

Nar Anon of Madison - is a 12 step fellowship for anyone who is affected by a loved ones addiction.  "We share Experience, Strength, and Hope".  They meet at Heritage Church (27768 Huntsville Browns Ferry Rd which is 1/4 mile behind Walgreens County Line Rd) on Mondays from 6:30 - 8:00 PM.  Visit NarAnon.org for more information.  

NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS (NA)  is a nonprofit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. We are recovering addicts who meet regularly to help each other stay clean. This is a program of complete abstinence from all drugs. There is only one requirement for membership, the desire to stop using. We suggest that you keep an open mind and give yourself a break. Our program is a set of principles written so simply that we can follow them in our daily lives. The most important thing about them is that they work. Nar-Anon - The Nar-Anon Family Groups is primarily for those who know or have known a feeling of desperation concerning the addiction problem of someone very near to you. We have traveled that unhappy road too, and found the answer with serenity and peace of mind.  When you come into the family group, you are no longer alone, but among true friends who understand your problem as few others could. We respect your confidence and anonymity as we know you will respect ours.  We hope to give you the assurance that no situation is too difficult and no unhappiness is too great to be overcome.  Our program, which is not a religious one but a spiritual way of life, is based on the Twelve Steps of Nar-Anon.
